BMI stands for Body mass index its a measure were it compares height and wight and determinates wether if the person has an excess of body fat.

The first step to fight obesity is to forget about your physical shape and worry about your health, these 2 come along together so once you’ve achieved 1 you’ll have achieved your goal on getting in shape and have a healthy way of life.

NOTE: In order to loose weight you must do Cardiovascular Exercises!, going to the gym and benching heights will only gain you muscle but you will loose a very short amount of fat.

Diets work for a period of time, but the essence of controlling what you are eating (Calories, etc) is to change your whole lifestyle rewarding alimentation, when you are thinking bout loosing weight you should not be thinking on a diet, you should be thinking on how to change your eating habits in order you will never become fat again.

Taking care of your health doesn’t mean you will never eat a juice Hamburger or anything tasty, this only means you will slow down the rate in which you used to ate those types of food.

In order to fight obesity and get in shape you should follow these simple recommendations:

*Try to exercise everyday for atleast 30 Minutes. *Drink water instead of Soda, a 20-ounce regular soda can contain 200 – 320 calories(Consumption of sweetened drinks is believed to be contributing to the rising rates of obesity.)

*Estimate how many calories you should eat per day, Your BMR is the amount of energy your body needs to function. We use about 60% of the calories we consume each day for basic bodily functions such as breathing.

Other factors that influence your BMR are height, weight, age and sex.

Step one is to calculate your BMR with the following formula:

Women: Formula to calculate how many calories should eat per day.

655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) – (4.7 x age in years) There for you can calculate how many calories you should eat following these simple Formulas.

Men: Formula to calculate how many calories should eat per day.

66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) – (6.8 x age in years)

Please note that this formula applies only to adults.

*Eat low portions of food, if you eat 3 times a day try eating 5 instead of 3, this way you wont eat as many calories on a single meal.

*Enjoy while doing exercise most people quit because they loose interest after exercising a couple of weeks, use diversity, try different types of exercises, listen to music or exercise with somebody else.
